Protecting Your Pass Words

Having trouble keeping account of your passwords?
There are programs to help you keep track. I

Here is a method to help you protect your
passwords from thieves that enter your computer
and by logging in your keyboard strokes- steal
your passwords!

They are called Keyloggers. You may not be aware
they have invaded your computer until they steal
a password and rob you by getting into a program
of yours such as a Payment Processor like PayPal
or StormPay.

Here is a way to protect your computer from
keyloggers:

This works with a PC that has Windows 98 and
Windows XP. It may work on earlier Windows
programs as well. I am not familiar with
computers with other system styles.

You need to first determine that you have an
Accessories in your Start Menu. It should be
listed by clicking on Start and scrolling to
Accessories.

What you will be looking for in Accessories is
the "On Screen Keyboard". When you locate the
On Screen KeyBoard right click on it, do not
open it but select from the menu "create short
cut".

This will put a icon copy of the On-Screen
KeyBoard on your desktop. This gives you
instant access to the on screen keyboard
without having to locate it through the Start
Menu.

Establish a hardcopy journal for keeping track
of all of the passwords for each program you
use them on. Maintain at least a page for each
program so you can readily change your passwords
on a routine basis. Many people desire to change
their very important passwords weekly.

Make up a very impromptu type passwords of at
least seven characters. The characters should
be mixed letters, numerals, and symbols if
they are allowed such as # % @ .

Go to the programs you desire to be of high
security. Change your passwords using the
On-Screen KeyBoard to place your passwords
instead of your computer keyboard.

By using the On-Screen KeyBoard you will thwart
a KeyLogger from stealing your passwords.

I would be remiss if I did not mention you need
to protect your computer from other undesirable
entries by unscrupulous thieves, hackers, and
viruses. There are many good programs that will
protect your computer. No one is safe without
the proper precautions.
